What are Home Health Aid Services?

A home health aide is a trained health care specialist who provides assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, meal, preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, among other tasks. For anyone who is looking for temporary services or seeking long-term support, home health aide services can be essential in enabling one to remain at home and provide peace of mind. 

Skin Care

Preventative general skin care includes the three basic skin-care routine steps are cleansing, moisturizing, and applying sunscreen

Feeding

Clients can be assisted with eating and drinking when the client can independently swallow and be positioned upright.

Dressing

Assistance is available to clients who need aid in dressing. This may include assistance with ordinary clothing and application of support stockings.

Hair Care

Assist with the maintenance and appearance of their hair. Hair care within these limitations may include shampooing with non-medicated shampoo or shampoo that does not require a physician’s prescription, drying, combing and styling hair.

Medication Reminder

Aides can assist a clients with medication reminding only when medications have been pre-selected by the client, a family member, a nurse, or a pharmacist and are stored in containers other than the prescription bottles, such as medication reminders. Medication reminder containers shall be clearly marked as to day and time of dosage.

Positioning

Assist a client with positioning  may include simple alignment in a bed, wheelchair, or other furniture.
